RCV Rabbis and Rebbetzins Train in Reportable Conduct Scheme and Child Safe Standards

Rabbis, Rebebtzins and Shule Presidents were invited to a training session presented by Emily Saunders, Director Regulation at the Commission for Children and Young People, on the Reportable Conduct Scheme and Child Safe Standards, two regulatory schemes that the Commission oversees. In accordance with the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, faith communities and religious organisations based in Victoria are responsible to implement the Victorian Child Safe Standards since 1 January 2017 and to comply with the Reportable Conduct Scheme since 1 January 2018. Heads of organisations are responsible for ensuring their organisations comply with the Reportable Conduct Scheme.

The RCV members had an opportunity to gain more knowledge about the two regulatory schemes, and meet with Commission staff to address questions and seek clarification.

After the comprehensive training, Rabbi Daniel Rabin, Immediate Past President, presented Emily with a certificate of gratitude.
